IFC And Frame Home

- Alternative Construction

This home was a very unique construction project due to the uniqueness of the lot. We had to build the Driveway over an Arroyo, run the Utilities through the same Arroyo and then cut into the side of the mountain approximately twelve feet to create the Building Pad. The mountain at this location was a loose shale material.
For Stability and Structural purposes, the Garage and Lower Level of this Home were constructed of eight-inch Insulated Concrete Forms and then the Upper Level was constructed using traditional Framing Methods.
The Upper Level of the Home partially sat on the Lower Level and the Lower Level had a walk-out Den that allowed access to the Backyard.
Slate and Travertine were used as most of the Flooring Materials and all Walls and Ceilings were finished with a Traditional three-coat Plaster System.
The Home is on the Side of the Mountain on the way to the Santa Fe Ski Basin and overlooks the Valley towards Los Alamos.
